Like listening to lots of speech podcasts? Use the x2 button (or tortise and hare switch in the new app) to get more audio content in less time. Don’t speed up music podcasts though!

  1. Mike,
This is an awesome podcast. Thanks for your clear, concise break down on podcasting.
You guys never cease to amaze me with the content you deliver to the broadcaster. As always…..I enjoy hearing from you and your team. Keep up the Great work. Cheers

Great job, Mike! You were spot on, brief and to the point. Niche podcasting is definitely the way of the future and you are absolutely right when you say that NOW is the time to get started. You snooze, you lose! I’ve been producing internet radio shows and podcasts for over two years and it makes my head spin trying to keep up with the advances in technology. I’ll be looking forward to hearing more of your podcasts to help keep me (technologically) straight as well as put a smile on my face. Wishing you a BLESSED day. :)

    • Kind words Inspiring Talk Radio, thank you. My background is in commercial radio but now I get far more excited about niche broadcasting online. You’re right, technology is moving along so fast, but there are so many great podcasters and bloggers out there to help us keep up with it all!

Mike Russell knows his stuff. His podcasts will not be long and drawn out snoozefests. To educate as well as entertain is his main focus here. Give him a listen, or better yet … SUBSCRIBE. Anything that Mike has sent to me (I’m a repeat client of his) has been wonderful, and his new podcast is just another way of expanding his Music, Radio, and Creativity.

  4. Mike, congratulations on your first podcast!
I must admit I do agree with you about the future of radio. It seems funny how over the last ten years UK commercial radio has been eroded away into a couple of rigid formats. I have a feeling they could have shot themselves in the foot. Niche podcasts are gaining momentum, like your graph shows!
I look forward to the next podcast

    • Thanks Benedict. It is a shame that most of UK commercial radio, apart from a handful of stations, have become little more than background music for most listeners. Podcasting is the complete opposite. I feel privileged to be a part of it!
