Show notes are not always an easy thing for podcasters to produce after recording their shows. How much value do comprehensive show notes really add? Does anyone really read podcast show notes?

  1. I rarely read show notes, personally. However, if there is an episode that talks about some software recommendation or other resources, I’ll go to the site to look for links to that relevant information.

    Also, good show notes with keywords in them will help the posts get found in search results. I do think it’s possible to get pretty decent results with just above minimal effort in posting show notes. 🙂

  2. The show notes are for the Search Engines, mostly. But there are people who actually prefer to read the transcript. And with a transcript I get to add graphics to the post. So I have actually been doing hybrid podcast/blog postings. Also the general idea of my podcast in particular is to bring a Public Relations benefit to the Organizations and People I feature.

    The interview episode transcripts are considerably shorter. In fact, technically they are not transcripts. Just links and a brief summary of what we talk about.
